Our Team

Seth P. Finklestein, M.D., CEO
Seth P. Finklestein, M.D., CEO is former Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital (HMS/MGH) and former Director of the NIH-funded CNS Growth Factor Research Laboratory at MGH. From 2001-2004, he was V.P. and Head of the Neuroscience Division at Viacell, Inc., before founding Biotrofix. Dr. Finklestein has more than 20 years of experience in animal models of neurological disease. He is the author of over 140 peer-reviewed research publications and review articles, and inventor on 7 issued patents and patent applications. He is a graduate of Haverford College and Harvard Medical School.
JingMei Ren, M.D., Vice President, Preclinical Development
JingMei Ren, M.D., Vice President, Preclinical Development, has worked with Dr. Finklestein for more than 10 years and is co-author with him on numerous research publications. She is widely experienced in animal models of neurological diseases. Mei received her M.D. from the Capital Institute of Medicine, in Beijing, China.
Dana K. Sietsma, Director of Operations
Dana K. Sietsma, Director of Operations, manages the daily operations of Biotrofix, specifically in the areas of program management, marketing, and quality assurance. Dana has worked with Drs. Finklestein and Ren since 1999, first at the Massachusetts General Hospital and then at Viacell, Inc. Dana then worked as an administrator at the Marine Biological Laboratory, and joined Biotrofix in 2006. She holds a B.S. in Biology (with a minor in Psychology) from Bridgewater State College.
Charlie Popkin, Chief Financial Officer

Charlie Popkin, Chief Financial Officer, is a seasoned financial professional with experience growing companies in fast paced environments. Charlie was the CFO of The Merallis Company, a technology services firm located in Rocky Hill, CT. Prior to Merallis, Charlie was a founding management member of PQC, Inc., a management services company which he helped grow to $80M in revenue. Charlie also founded Medical Claims Management (MCM), a practice reimbursement management and consulting firm. Earlier in his career, Charlie worked as a Senior Consultant for Price Waterhouse and as Senior Accountant for Deloitte & Touche. He is a CPA, has a B.S. in Accountancy an A.S. in Management from Bentley College and an M.M. in Finance and Business Policy from the J.L. Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

 

Roz Switalski, Director of Finance
Roz Switalski, Director of Finance, has over 10 years of experience in finance and administration. Roz has worked in information technology, biotechnology, as well as various other industries. Roz began working with Biotrofix in 2006, and is responsible for financial management and all aspects of human resources. Roz holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.B.A from Babson College.
Angel Som, Research Associate
Angel Som, Research Associate, assists in all aspects of preclinical studies, especially in drug administration and behavioral evaluations. Prior to joining Biotrofix, she obtained a B.S. in Biology (with a minor in Chemistry) from Simmons College. While there, Angel completed her senior thesis on the proliferation and differentiation of progenitor cells in the subventricular zone of the rat brain.
Nicole Green, Director of Client Relations
Nicole Green, Director of Client Relations, has 12 years of experience in the scientific and business aspects of the biotech industry. She has worked as a Molecular Biologist at Wyeth, Sanofi-Aventis, and Novartis. At CombinatoRx, she was Staffing Manager in the Human Relations Department, and, most recently, she was an Executive Search Consultant for Positions, Inc., working in the biopharmaceutical sector. Nicole holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Emmanuel College.
   

Jeffrey S. Davis is the Chairman and Founder of Mage, LLC. Since 1983, Davis has worked with hundreds of owners and leaders of emerging and transitioning firms and family businesses to define their vision and goals and achieve greater overall organizational and personal success. Before founding Mage, Davis established his reputation as an entrepreneurial strategist, organizational change agent, and marketing and sales expert working for well-known international organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Athena Diagnostics, Avis and Quaker Oats. Davis is the New England Chairman of The Board of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and currently serves as an Assistant Vice President on the JNF’s Board of Directors. Davis is also a founding member of the Massachusetts Family Business Awards and an Executive Director of the Family Business Association, a statewide non-profit celebrating the achievements of family businesses in Massachusetts. Jeffrey did his undergraduate work at Concordia University in Montreal, where he majored in psychology and commerce. He earned a graduate degree in marketing, with a minor in human resource development, from the University of Ottawa.
